Vh1 Supersonic to take place in Pune in February 2017

Good News for Punekars!

Amidst the ongoing reports about Goa not hosting music festivals in the month of December, VH1 Supersonic has gone ahead and announced news dates and a new city for the festival’s 4th edition. The fourth edition of the EDM festival will take place in February in Pune in 2017.

LIVE Viacom18 announced in a statement the strategic decision to host the fourth edition of its live property in Pune. The three-day festival is scheduled to take place from February 10 next year.

The change in venue seems to be a outcome of the government’s decision, but Saugato Bhowmik, Head, LIVE Viacom18, calls it an “ongoing journey”.

“Carrying a legacy of offering the best in dance music, we are excited to host the upcoming edition of Vh1 Supersonic in Pune. Deeply rooted in culture and traditions, the city is known for its openness towards modern influences and thought. Pune is a seamless blend of local culture and global influences, thereby making it an apt destination for the upcoming edition of Vh1 Supersonic! We also see this as an ongoing journey to provide transformative experiences to today’s youth by creating the Supersonic world at the kind of world-class destinations that Pune is providing to us. We are looking forward to a very successful Vh1 Supersonic, celebrating Pune as our new home.” Bhowmik said.

Vh1 Supersonic has earlier hosted Vh1 Supersonic Arcades in Pune, with headliners like Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin and Pretty Lights, to name a few.

Moving beyond just a three-day annual festival, Vh1 Supersonic is also popular for its year long-experience sets through multiple brand extensions like Vh1 Supersonic Club Nights and Vh1 Supersonic Arcades.
