A perfect breakfast spot, a place where you can hang out with your girlfriends in the afternoon, an amazing hangout joint at night all filled with great food and drinks and also a pretty little patisserie is what we are looking at here. Mumbai’s famous Sassy Spoon has found its way to Pune.
The Sassy spoon is the brainchild of the dynamic duo – Rachel Goenka and Irfan Pabaney. The Sassy spoon’s philosophy has always been delicious food peppered with sass. The restaurant aims to recreate the same “sassy experience” in Pune as well with quirky bar bites, innovative mains, takeaways, scrumptious breakfasts and an innovative menu spanning across European, Mediterranean, Southeast Asian and Indian cuisines, for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, along with an exciting selection of cocktails and mocktails.
We just loved the way the place was done up! Quirky designs from the ceiling to the floor, a Volkswagen bar, stairs that goes up to a library; every element in this place was absolutely sassy! A mix of pop and pastel colors are used here bringing in the right balance. The Sassy spoon has both an indoor and outdoor seating. Also as you enter to your left side you see the Sassy Teaspoon , the patisserie counter where you get some delectable desserts (their Rose Macaroons were to die for). The desert menu is curated by Rachel Goenka.
We could just sit at the outdoor area the whole day as the ambience just takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The walls on the outside area are done with floral French windows (so pretty!)

Spiked Very Berry Khatta (Fresh Mulberries muddled with orange with a hint of grapes and kala khatta) – One of our favourite here, this is the Kala Khatta gola served in a glass. They also give an extra shot of the drink, incase if there is crushed ice still left in your glass.
Morning Brew (Espresso, Vanilla, Whiskey, house infused orange liqueur and zest) – The best cocktail here especially for a whiskey lover. Well we ordered for this the second time, was that good.
Spiked Soul Cooler (Kokum, Cilantro, Lemon, Green Chilli and Rum) – Decent.
Jack-N-Ginger (Whiskey, Lemon, Smoked Ginger Syrup and Fizz) – You need an acquired taste for this one, didn’t work for us.
Food – The food here is a mix of European, Mediterranean, South East Asian and Indian Cuisine.
Tenderloin Jerky with Coriander seeds and Lemon, spicy cherry tomato and chilli dip – OMG!!! This one was so crispy and perfectly done. We couldn’t stop! That cherry chilli dip added to the perfect tanginess. #HighlyRecommended
Cajun spiced, butter garlic Prawns with crusty French Baguette – The best part of this yummy dish was that the prawns was fresh! You could just soak the baguette in that butter gravy and relish the flavor. #HighlyRecommended
Baked Lasagna of creamed Leeks, Mushrooms and Sweet Potatoes, Cheddar- A vegetarian’s delight and also the hard core non-vegetarians like us loved it too.
Cornflake crumb fried Chicken with mustard mashed Potatoes and the day’s salad – The Chicken is marinated overnight in a stock which played perfectly on our tastebuds. This was a Sassy version of the southern fried chicken.
Kerala style Lamb with buttered Brun – In kerala this is one of the chaknas used and thank you Sassy for having this dish here! The marination just needs a little more pepper.
Sticky Toffee Pudding – The Date and Toffee pudding with Caramel sauce was served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and candied ginger. We just went to heaven and came back! A #highlyrecommended dessert at The Sassy Spoon.
Guava Chilli Sorbet- Flavoursome with that hint of chilli.
This place is absolute fun to be and the menu has a lot of variety. Each time you come here, you could try something new! A #mustgo place, and trust is when we say, Pune just sot Sassy!
