Radisson Blu Hotel, Kharadi Pune, Govind Thakkar and Minoti Makim have come together to raise funds for the Vasudhaiva Ride with a public vintage and super cars and bikes show, followed by a private dinner at the Radisson Blu Kharadi Hotel.
This Sunday, Nov 5th, the vehicles will be on display for public at Radisson Blu Kharadi from 11am to 6pm. At 7.00pm the private soiree will begin.
The Vasudhaiva Ride is a two year long series of projects for peace, sustainable living and community wellbeing by Prashant Kumar (India) and Ben Reid-Howells (Canada). They have embarked on this 60,000+ kilometer journey from India to Scotland with the motive to strengthen the vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – The whole world is one family.
All funds raised at this event will go towards this series of projects, including the current Bihar Project, a long term project Prashant and Ben initiated in May, 2017 to create a prototype for self-reliant housing and a future skills training centre for resilient livelihood in Arrah, Bihar.
The idea of this fund raiser is to collect funds for these projects as well as to spread awareness of this transnational ride which is itself a stepping stone in the direction of peace and togetherness in times of growing distances between peoples.
The event will begin with a show of 40 plus Vintage cars and super bikes lent by Yohan Poonawala, Subhash Sanas, Sudhir Sable, Ramesh Thakker, Rahul Malthankar, amongst others followed by a buffet dinner and stories from the projects and journey so far of the Vasudhaiva Ride.
“It is an honor for us to be hosting an event for such a noble cause and we hope people turn up in large numbers to support the work and journey of the Vasudhaiva Ride,” Says an official from Hotel Radisson Blu.
“The Vasudhaiva Ride, the idea of one world one family; uniting people, creating communities and enriching lives with a journey through so many places is something I believe in and support fully. I met Ben and Prashant quite accidentally and have become a part of this wonderful initiative that is touching and transforming lives every day!” Says, Minoti Makim.
Govind Thakkar concludes, “The time has come for communities to come together. I’ve been training Ben and Prashant in this journey since meeting them one year back. The Vasudhaiva Ride is more than a motorcycle journey: it’s carrying a message of collective energy across the world, calling people to unite. This event will be one way to support this work, and a seed to carry into our day to day lives.”
