THE 2018 CHINESE NEW YEAR

Celebrate the ‘Year of the dog’ with a delectable menu and change your fortunes for the long year that awaits.

Shizusan – the 2018 Times food & Nightlife award-winning Southeast Asian restaurant – is introducing a special menu for to celebrate the auspicious Chinese New Year in Pune, Mumbai & Bengaluru. The limited period which begins on the 12th February and available just for a week, will have beautiful spread, specially created by Chef Paul Kinny that will transport you to the streets of China. The innovative menu will have plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. On being asked what’s special about this menu, Chef Paul Kinny says, “This menu is inspired by signature local dishes of various regions in China and is a result of months of research and experimentation. I wish everyone reading this a very happy Chinese New Year.”

Starting off the meal are soups and appetizers. Chef recommends pairing The Shrimp & Bean Curd soup with the Mariachi Roll; Tuna ceviche, cheese, jalapeno, avocado, Japanese mayo topped with teriyaki sauce & tomato salsa. This combination should give a sense of the awesomeness to follow. 

Follow that up with a Wok Tossed Oyster Mushroom; Snowpeas & Baby Carrot in Burnt Chilli Sauce or the most famous chicken dish to come out from China, General Tao’s Chicken. Pair these up with a hearty serving of Lo Mein Noodle; Whole wheat noodle tossed in Chinese trinity sauce and the critically acclaimed Pineapple & Garlic Fried Rice; Golden grains of rice with jeweled chunks of juicy pineapple, water chestnut & cashews, served in pineapple. HEAVENLY!

The Braised Red Snapper in Shao Hsing, Ginger & Soya Sauce promises to be the most Instagrammable dish along with an interesting story too. Legend has it, eating a whole fish is considered as a sign of good health & prosperity during the New Year.

End your meal with the Lychee &a Cinnamon Cheese Cake Or The Cantonese Sai Mai Lo; Pearl Tapioca, coconut milk, evaporated milk to end the night on a high.
