800+ Women Seek Promising Job Roles at Exclusive Diversity Job Fair in Pune

More women in Pune keen to start career after a break than other Non-Metropolitan cities. – Out of a total talent pool of 1700 entries received from Pune – 498 Women are Career Re-starters (430 are returning after a maternity break)

‘Debut 2.0’ a 4 week online internship program launched for Pune women who have taken a break in their careers and want to re-enter the workforce as recruitment professionals.

Tech still remains the most sought after domain for women of Pune – More than 50% of the participants had a tech background.

The seventh edition of ‘Women Changemakers Career Fair and Confluence’ made waves at Hyatt Regency in Pune today. An initiative of Stockroom.io, the event was an exciting opportunity for women to identify better job opportunities and understand diversity initiatives of leading corporate organizations. The event provided a platform for participants to network with women corporate leaders and apply for available job roles across organizations.

Funded by Mancer Consulting Services, one of India’s leading recruitment consultancy firms, Stockroom.io helps companies hire curated technology talent.  Women Changemakers is an exclusive career fair and confluence for women, which is the diversity vertical of stockroom.io.

At the venue, about 850 women with professional experience ranging from 0 to 15+ years’ experience, and about 498 re-starters participated in focused discussions that helped them apply for suitable job roles. The high-level speaker line up and influencers at the Fair was also a huge attraction for most participants who were looking to learn, grow in their professions.

A very evident trend noticed in Pune was with the number of women looking to get back into the workforce. Out of a total talent pool of 1700 entries received from Pune for the event– 498 Women are Career Re-starters.  This is the highest ever in any Non metro city – The last edition of the event held in Pune had 150 career re-starters among 780 participants. A total of 256 offers were rolled out to women from Pune last year from participating companies. This year (2019) the a few of the leading companies that were hiring from the event included Infosys, Dell, UBS ZS, Symantec, Credit Suisse, Syngenta and Maersk.

The event also marked the launch of Woman Change Makers Returnship Program: Debut 2.0 in Pune.  This 4 week online internship program is an opportunity for women who have taken a break in their careers and want to re-enter the workforce as recruitment professionals. This program will enable corporates to recruit potential women candidates who can work from the comfort of their homes as recruiters.

Speaking on the launch of ‘Debut 2.0’, Mr. Naren Krishna, the founder of Stockroom.io said “ Debut 2.0 is a very powerful tool for women who are looking to start their journey back in the workforce as recruitment professionals.
